This recording session is produced by Tom Dowd.

According to Stuart Winkles this was the first recording session on which Duane Allman participated on invitation of Rick Hall. Stuart Winkles dated this recording session in early September 1968, but this is not correct. The session took place mid September and was not produced by Rick Hall, but by Tom Dowd. Duane did not participate in this session, but he can be heard on the track 'Save Me' (right channel). His guitar part, however, is an overdub, probably recorded on or around December 3, 1968. Duane plays a dialogue in between the previously recorded vocal lines.
